The second CEOP-AEGIS Plenary Meeting was held from the 15th to 16th July 2010 and hosted by the Institute for Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA) in Beijing.

After the welcoming statements by Prof. X. Gu, Director of the IRSA, and by Dr. T. Xao from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the first session dedicated to "High elevation hydrology and earth observation in Asia" gave a broad view of current and upcoming research projects. Following an overview of CEOP-AEGIS by Prof. M. Menenti, Prof. Y. Ma presented the Third Pole program promoted by the Institute for Tibetan Plateau Researches, Prof. M. Menenti presented the Paprika initiative, Prof. R. Jha presented current investigations on high elevation hydrology in India, Dr. R. Jayakumar presented the G-WADI network by the UNESCO, and Dr. P. van Oevelen presented the new GEWEX and High Elevation Hydrology program.
The Work-packages session presentations given by each WP coordinator gave a consistent overview of mid-term achievements and upcoming challenges within CEOP-AEGIS, followed by internal discussions between every contributors of the project, leading to a very fruitful workshop.
